AMENDED TAX RETURN PREPARATION
Your Intake Is Complete. Now Provide Your Tax Documents Securely.
Your next step is to provide the originally filed tax return and the documents supporting the changes that need to be made.
Use the designated secure client portal for all sensitive taxpayer information.
What Should I Provide?
Start with:
- Complete copy of the originally filed tax return, including all schedules and attachments
- Any previously amended return for the same tax year, if applicable
- New or corrected W-2s, 1099s, K-1s or other tax documents
- Documents supporting the specific changes being made
- IRS or state notices related to the amendment, if applicable
- Other records directly related to the changes identified in your intake
Start With the Documents Related to the Amendment.
You do not need to provide every tax record you have.
Start with the complete originally filed return and the documents directly supporting the changes identified in your intake.
If additional information is needed, we'll tell you specifically what to provide.
Important: Your Tax Deadlines Still Apply
Providing documents does not extend, suspend or satisfy any IRS or state filing, payment, refund-claim, notice-response or other deadline.
If you have an approaching deadline, do not assume preparation of the amendment changes that deadline.
Keep Sensitive Tax Information Secure
Your tax return and supporting documents may contain Social Security numbers, financial information and other sensitive taxpayer data.
Provide these documents only through the designated secure client portal. Do not send them through ordinary email.
What Happens After Your Documents Are Received?
1 — Document Review
We'll review the original return and the documentation supporting the requested changes.

We May Need Additional Information
