Your intake is complete. Now provide the records needed to evaluate your current tax position and develop your Year-End Tax Strategy™.

Start With Your Most Recent Tax Returns

Provide complete copies of your most recently filed:

  • Federal individual income tax return
  • State individual income tax return
  • Business tax return, when applicable
  • Schedules and attachments included with those returns

If Tax Control Group already has the applicable return, you do not need to provide another copy unless requested.

Current-Year Business Information

Provide the most current information available, including:

  • Year-to-date profit and loss statement
  • Year-to-date balance sheet, if available
  • Current-year business income totals
  • Current-year business expense totals
  • Current-year payroll information, when applicable
  • Owner compensation information, when applicable

Provide the most current records reasonably available. We may request clarification if the records are incomplete or materially out of date.

Estimated Tax Payments

Provide records showing any current-year:

  • Federal estimated tax payments
  • State estimated tax payments
  • Extension payments, if applicable
  • Other significant tax payments that may affect the current-year projection

Include the amount and date of each payment when available.

Major Transactions & Changes

If applicable, provide information concerning:

  • Major equipment purchases
  • Vehicle purchases
  • Business property purchases or sales
  • Investment or property sales
  • Significant distributions
  • Significant bonuses or other compensation
  • Major new sources of income
  • Significant changes in business ownership
  • Major changes in business operations
  • Other unusual transactions that could materially affect your taxes

Retirement & Benefit Information

If applicable to your planning questions, provide information about:

  • Existing retirement plans
  • Contributions already made during the year
  • Planned contributions
  • Employer contributions
  • Other relevant business-owner benefit arrangements
